  WHAT HAPPENED?

  The Gunners were all set for a derby date with London City at the Princes Park Stadium in Dartford, Kent. The match, initially scheduled to take place on Wednesday evening, was called off due to a waterlogged pitch after officials deemed the ground unplayable after a thorough inspection.

• WHAT ARSENAL SAID

  Arsenal put out a statement, which read: "We regret to inform our supporters that tonight’s FA Women's Continental Tyres League Cup quarter-final against London City Lionesses has been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch. The decision was made by match officials following a pitch inspection at 2:30 pm. A rearranged date for the fixture will be communicated in due course. Ticket holders will be contacted directly by London City Lionesses."

• THE BIGGER PICTURE

  Arsenal would have faced old acquaintances in Emma Mukandi and Danielle Carter if the match was played. But Jonas Eidevall & Co will now have to wait for a new date for the fixture, which will be revealed soon.
