  Benzema went from hero to villain for in five minutes as right after providing the assist for the opening goal of Abderrazak Hamdallah, he conceded a penalty in the 19th minute of the game after kicking Al Lajami's foot inside the Al-Ittihad box. His former Real Madrid team-mate did not make a mistake in finding the back of the net from the spot that brought Al-Nassr back in the game. In the 38th minute, Talisca scored another goal as Luis Casto's side headed into the half-time with a 2-1 lead.
